Short Bio
My name is Allison Malher-Gjerde and I am a new aspiring artist. I've spent my life living in small rural communities and love to be outside enjoying nature. I live with my husband of 35 years, my father who creates beautiful frames for my paintings, and my dog.
Statement
My love for nature and my surroundings inspire me to paint predominantly country landscapes. I gravitate toward impressionistic/realism and use mainly oils with occasional acrylic work. As I am new at this, I have no method and not a clue what I'm doing. I hope you enjoy.
Biography
Allison lives in a small rural community in the Midwest and works out of her home studio. She has worked in many fields helping people but enjoys the solitude of painting. She is a master herbalist, dealing with medicinal herbs, and an avid gardener. She has worn many hats and has done volunteer work throughout her life. She led a free grocery delivery service for shut-ins for several years, and has built a large community youth group with the help of her husband. She strives to perfect her art while continuing to serve her community.
